- Harry Potter candy: Ice Mice and Jelly Slugs
Also Mom and I bought each other calendars for Christmas: Orlando Bloom for her, Scott Mutter (photomontages) for me. I’ve been wanting the Mutter calendar for years. (Reminder to self: get the Mutter Escalator poster out of storage now that you have more wall space.) We’ll now pretend we don’t know what we’re getting.
I must say I was highly disappointed in Michael’s for knitting supplies. While they had twice as many brands as Wal-Mart, it wasn’t much of an improvement since it was all the same things, the same quality. Someone apparently decided that 29″ is the only length of circular needles that anyone would ever want for both Wal-Mart and Michael’s sell only that kind. Finding a 32″ was a fluke. (And what I really wanted was 35″ or 36″.) I suppose I’ll have to get the 16″ I want online somewhere. I was also hoping to find some wooden or bamboo needles – anything other than plastic or aluminum. No luck. Even the wall of yarn looked more impressive than it actually was. It was dominated by the same brands that Wal-Mart carries (with a few more color choices): Red Hart, Lion, Caron, etc. Just a great disappointment all around.
