Knitpicks has two new yarns: Parade and Essential. Both are fingering weight superwash wools. As if they didn’t already have half a dozen sock yarns! Parade doesn’t do anything for me. It’s far too fussy for my taste. Essential normally wouldn’t pique my interest either, but I’ve recently been looking for suitable substitutes for the the Union Square Market Pullover from the Fall ‘05 Interweave Knits. I had been thinking of buying a load of Color Your Own. I may still do that since the Essential colors don’t quite match with what I had in mind, but the superwash element is appealing.

Blogged for future reference: Zooba.com is to books what YourMusic.com is to CDs. You make a queue of books when you sign up, and every month they send out the top selection and charge your credit card $9.99. (YourMusic.com charges $5.99 for CDs.) Unlike YM, Zooba does require the purchase of three books before you can cancel, but it’s still a good deal since shipping is free. The reason I’m posting this here is they have a decent selection of knitting books. Not as many as Crafter’s Choice, but both do offer many of the same books.
