Part three in the series recapping 2004 & 2005 projects.

Papaya Voodoo

Voodoo wristwarmers

Pattern: Voodoo wrist warmers
Yarn: Simply Soft Brites in Papaya, less than one skein
Needles: Size 5 Brittany Birch dpns
Began: 4/16/05
Completed: 5/7/05
Skills Learned: Knitting in the round with double-point needles

This was either a Mother’s Day or birthday gift. Mom picked out the color which I didn’t like at first but love now. The pattern is fun, but I had tremendous difficulty making the thumbhole (done as a horizontal buttonhole) loose enough.

LMKG wristwarmers

Broken Rib Wristwarmers

Pattern: from Last Minute Knitted Gifts
Yarn: Wool-Ease in Chestnut Heather, partial skein
Needles: Size 5 Denise (Magic Loop)
Began: 11/16/05
Completed: 11/24/05

Yes, Virginia, you can Magic Loop on Denise needles! This pair was made for myself, and I use them every day around the house. They’re starting to pill a little, but I’m still quite pleased in my first experience with Wool-Ease. I tend to think of chestnut as brown, but this color is a really lovely burgundy with little flickers of gold. It goes well with my Gryffindor scarf! I hope to make matching legwarmers soon.
