Socks Progress

It’s one week later and there has been only 4″, maybe 5″ progress on the Twisted Socks. I made a serious effort to get the foot portion done this week, but it was not to be. At this rate these socks will be completed by October..

Meanwhile, the slipper situation has become a crisis. Winter is still hanging around, and the heels of my old slippers each have a hole big enough to fit a Kennedy half dollar through! I cast on for some felted slippers yesterday, and already I’m in love. Felted items have always been my favorite knitting experiences (since I’m lazy and love not having to worry about gauge), and the merino is so buttery soft!

One of my favorite things to do is wash a lock of Merino and flick card it so it’s a big, thick white square….it’s so squishy. =)

Unspun Merino is even softer than good Merino yarn, if you can imagine. Mmmmm….

Thanks for letting us know out the discontinuation of some of the KnitPicks sock yarn. I ordered a bunch–two shipments, actually. I just got one shipment a few days ago. Seeing your Paper Doll hank really made me want to order some of that. I just started using some of the KnitPicks last night (couldn’t wait!) to make some mother’s day socks. It’s so soft. Have fun with your sock and slipper knitting.
